Miscellaneous Ramblings

Snow, Snow, come this way! I went to bed last night hoping for at least 5 inches of snow tomorrow. When I woke up, there was already eight. Eight! Now, today was not like last time. No, today, I woke up and ran to the window, crossing my fingers for a winter wonderland. When I pulled open the curtains, I saw this:
*Swoon*
(Entry for The Sunday Creative [12.5.10-12.11.10])

I mean, just look at the pileup! (Our little, yellow stool that sits outside our front door--covered in over a foot of snow!)
(By the way, our total precipitation was 16.5 inches. Can you believe it!!!)

Animal. Our current unit in gym is dance. And let me tell you, I wasn't too thrilled about the idea of making one up and performing it in front of the class by the end of the week. But now, I am. My group chose the song Animal by Neon Trees. Class has been nothing but laughs since our first move.

I've been growing. I have. Indeed. As you can see, there have been some times when I've grown an inch in one month. Yeah. And since I have, my friends just can't seem to let it go that I'm taller than them. But I guess they'll just have to accept it, 'cause I'm not stopping any time soon. :D
Banana Bread. I made banana bread today. I thought it'd be a fun thing to do since I was basically stuck in the house all day. Plus, I hadn't baked anything in a very. long. time. So I gathered ingredients and began to bake.
And after a whole 70 minutes...
Yum.

3/4 cup of sugar
1 1/2 cups of mashed bananas (3 large)
3/4 cup of vegetable oil
2 eggs
2 cups of Gold Medal all-purpose flour
1/2 cup of chopped nuts, if you like
1 teaspoon of baking soda
2 teaspoons of vanilla
1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
1/2 teaspoon of salt

1. Heat the over to 325 degrees
2. Grease a loaf pan with shortening, using a pastry brush
3. Mix sugar, bananas, oil and eggs in a large bowl with a wooden spoon. Stir in remaining ingredients. Pour into pan.
4. Bake until a wooden pick inserted in center of the bread comes out clean, 60 to 70 minutes. Let 10 minutes, then loosen sides of loaf from pan and remove from pan. Let cool completely before slicing. Makes 1 loaf.

I'm sick. Just with a cold, but still. I feel miserable. My nose is numb from all the tissues. And *ACHOO!* I can't stop sneezing. Did I mention I'm cold? *Brrr* A little advice from me--don't get sick. :P
