Rain on the Windowsill

The sun was just setting as I was rolling the lawn mower into the garage. I had noticed the sky was a little dark. In a smokey way. And with the sunset peeking out from behind the clouds, it looked almost daring...in a way.

But, not daring enough.

Brother continued to jump on the tramp. I continued to 'yard work'. And the world continued revolve... I don't think the clouds liked that. Because only moments later did a loud BOOM! roll across the sky. Almost as if the clouds were saying 'am I daring enough for you now?'. Apparently, yes. Because I jumped, and seconds later suggested, 'How about we go inside now?'.

Yup. Definitely time to go inside. But, of course, what a wonderful opportunity for a picture? I hurried inside, peeking one more look at the mysterious clouds, and ran to the camera bag. 'Hurry, hurry, HUR-ry!' I thought. And then, just as I popped the lens cap off, I heard a faint-but-clear *shhhh* in the background. And when I ran to the wndow to see if it really had--it was.

And it. was. POURING.

So much for a picture. Well, I still caught these from inside.

(And don't worry, Brother and I made it in safely, without a single drop on our heads.) :D

  1. I love these pictures! Way to get yourself and Brother inside before the torrential downpour. I didn't realize it was coming so fast. P.S. The lawn looks great. : )
